Here are a few questions where I give advice to Veterans about C&P exams.
What’s is a C&P exam?
If you prove your claim enough, the VA might send you to verify your disabilities. If you provide plenty of medical evidence they can make a decision without an exam. They can also deny it without an exam.
Do I need to show up for my C&P exam? Yes
If you don’t show up you sink your claim, VA is using the duty to assist you to prove your claim. If you don’t take that help you will likely lose. If an exam was not necessary they would not have ordered one for you.
Today I learned from two subscribers that QTC who is a contractor is now having veterans acknowledge that a goniometer is going to be used to measure a range of motion and you have to sign it. Not sure if this is nationwide or if all contractors will do it but a few of us on YouTube have talked about inadequate C&P exams and I have shown the goniometer a lot.
How to win your compensation and pension exam
First is knowing the CFR and knowing what you should rate for based on the severity of your symptoms.
Second, is knowing how to effectively get the C&P examiner to see things your way. The first part is the easiest. Read the CFR for your specific disabilities, and you will quickly be able to determine what rating you should qualify for. The second is a little trickier because this entails being effective at persuasion.
Remember, many of these C&P examiners have been at this for years. They’ve become numb to the grind and then you’re just another number.
