This new bill creates a law that says the VA cannot do that anymore.
The VA needs to put the Public Use Disability Benefits Questionnaires back up on the Veterans Benefits Administration website.
The need to keep the DBQ’s updated and if you use a DBQ that has expired it will still be good for a year of this law passing.
Congress is mandating a yearly OIG Report on the progress of the DBQ’s over the next three years so they have direct oversight.
If the VA wants to make changes to a DBQ or to discontinue one, they need buy-in from Congress & Veteran Service Organizations.
They will not be able to discontinue a DBQ until a replacement form or process is implemented.
