The veteran services imposter scam is when the scammer pretends to be someone they are not in order to earn the trust of their victims and convince them to send money. With veterans these scammers will call up and they will pretend to be the Veterans Health Administration or the Veterans Benefits Administration and the goal of this scam is your social security number.
The VA benefits scam involves scammers that gain your confidence by saying they can get you an increase in your veterans benefits or they will get you to qualify for aid and attendance when you don’t already qualify. Make sure to ask anybody that is going to work on your behalf if they are accredited with the VA. If not, you open yourself up to being potentially scammed.
The military records scam is the worst one of all because these scammers claim to help you gain expedited access or they say they have the ability to Fastrack your documents for you. There is no such thing and you need to figure out which branch of the VA you need to deal with when you are seeking certain military records, fill out the paperwork, and wait for your documents to come in the mail. There is no such thing as expedited or rushed access to this stuff.
