With a 100 percent VA disability rating, you are not restricted in your employment. As a result, if you obtain an evaluation of 100 percent for your service-connected problem and are able to work, you may do so.

Veterans with a 100% P&T VA disability rating are not restricted in their job activity unless they received the rating as a result of Individual Unemployability (TDIU). 100 percent schedular permanent and total ratings are immune to reduction.

If you are a veteran and receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) payments, you are not eligible to work. Both the VA and social security have different standards for entering the job market; however, substantial gainful employment is not on the table for either.
