VA Disability Rating Reduction – The Most Confusing Process You Need To Understand

VA rating reductions must be communicated to you in advance if they intend to reduce your rating. The notice must be detailed enough so that you know why your rating is being reduced. They must then allow you to submit evidence showing why it should not be reduced within 60 days after the notice. Furthermore, you have 30 days to request a hearing, where the proposal will not be implemented until after the hearing. This gives you a little bit more time to gather the evidence you need. Your benefits will be reduced if you do not request a hearing and do not submit evidence within 60 days.
