Medical Doctor Explains VA Disability Compensation For Knee Conditions

If you have a knee condition that has been caused by your time in service, you may be eligible for VA disability compensation. There are a few different ways that knee conditions can be rated, depending on the severity of the condition and how it affects your ability to function.

One way VA rates knee conditions is based on range of motion. If you have limited range of motion in your knee, you may be given a higher rating. Another way VA rates knee conditions is based on pain. If you experience a lot of pain when walking or doing other activities, you may also be given a higher rating.

VA will also consider any other symptoms you may have as a result of your knee condition, such as swelling, instability, or deformity. If your knee condition is severe enough that it prevents you from working or doing other activities, you may be eligible for a higher VA disability rating.
