The Pact Act: What the new VA Presumptive Conditions mean for Camp Lejeune Veterans?
The recent passing of the PACT Act has made it possible for veterans exposed to contaminated water at Camp Lejeune to sue the government and recover damages. The new law presumes that eight health conditions are related to the exposure, making it easier for disabled veterans and their families to get the care and benefits they need.
The new VA Presumptive Conditions are:
– Kidney cancer
– Liver cancer
– Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
– Leukemia
– Multiple myeloma
– Parkinson’s disease
– Aplastic anemia/myelodysplastic syndromes
– Bladder cancer
The Pact Act provides much needed relief to Camp Lejeune Veterans who have been suffering from the effects of exposure to contaminated drinking water. The new conditions will help ensure that these Veterans receive the care and benefits they need and deserve.
