Who qualifies as a VA caregiver? ?

VA caregivers can anybody that wants to do the job! To be eligible, VA caregivers must provide care to a Veteran who is receiving VA health care for a service-connected disability or for an injury that occurred during active military service. VA also requires that caregivers be able to provide proof of their ability to perform the tasks necessary to care for the Veteran.

VA recognizes the important role that caregivers play in the lives of Veterans and has established a number of programs and benefits to support them. These include financial stipends, access to medical care, training and counseling, respite care, and more.
