If you’re a Veteran with chronic rhinitis, you may be eligible for VA disability benefits. Here’s everything you need to know about the VA disability rating process for this condition.
Chronic rhinitis is a condition that causes inflammation of the nasal passages. This can lead to symptoms like sneezing, congestion, and runny nose. Allergic rhinitis can be caused by allergies to pollen, dust, mold, or other airborne irritants.
If you have allergic rhinitis and it is severe enough to impact your ability to work or live a normal life, you may be eligible for a VA disability rating. The severity of your symptoms will determine what level of disability rating you qualify for.
Allergic rhinitis with polyps qualifies for a 30 percent disability rating. A Veteran may get a 10 percent disability rating if their allergic rhinitis has no polyps, but comes with a higher than 50% blockage of the nasal tube on both sides or full blockage on one side.
