Why lazy, incompetent VA employees are costing taxpayers billions of dollars
Lazy, incompetent VA employees are costing taxpayers billions of dollars every year. In fact, a recent report by the Office of Inspector General found that the VA has spent more than $1 billion on employee bonuses since 2011, even as the department has been plagued by scandals and mismanagement.
What’s even more infuriating is that many of these bonuses were given to employees who were already under investigation for misconduct. In other words, the VA was rewarding its employees for screwing up.
This is an outrageous waste of taxpayer money, and it needs to stop. The VA needs to be held accountable for its misuse of funds, and its employees need to be held to a higher standard of performance. Otherwise, this cycle of incompetence and waste will continue, and the VA will continue to cost taxpayers billions of dollars every year.
