The VA Duty to Assist is NOT the Same as Actual Assistance
The VA Duty to Assist is NOT the same as providing actual assistance. The VA Duty to Assist means that you can expect VA personnel to provide you with resources and information regarding veterans benefits and services available to veterans. They may also be able to provide general guidance related to a particular situation or issue, but they are not required to actually provide any type of hands-on assistance or support. The VA Duty to Assist only applies to the information and resources made available by the VA, not any other outside organizations or services. If a veteran needs more than just assistance with navigating the VA system, they may need to seek out additional help from an accredited provider or organization.
