LoginHow to Get a 50% VA Disability Rating For Sleep Apnea and MAXIMIZE YOUR VA Benefit Payments
If you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, then you may be able to receive VA disability pay in the form of a 50% VA disability rating. In order to win your sleep apnea claim and collect VA disability pay at the 50% rate you must prove service connection and the hardest part about this claim is the nexus link.
The Veterans Administration requires a clear link between your current, diagnosed condition and a possible incident or activity that occurred during your military service. This can be difficult if the sleep apnea was not diagnosed at the time of discharge. Even if you have been diagnosed prior to filing, the VA may require an expert medical opinion.
Veterans can also prove service connection for sleep apnea by showing that their sleep apnea began in service using service medical records, or by providing a nexus opinion from a medical professional that links their current diagnosis of sleep apnea to signs or symptoms they experienced in service or they can obtain a sleep apnea VA disability rating on a secondary service connection basis.
