LoginVA disability cuts: Is the VA really going to to slash VA Disability Benefits?
VA disability cuts have been a popular topic in the news lately but is the VA really going to slash our VA Disability Benefits? The short answer is no. Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has recently proposed VA benefits cuts for disabled veterans but this does not mean the VA is actually going to implement them.
VA Secretary Denis McDonough says he opposes any attempts to cut veterans’ disability benefits and that cutting mental health care, extended retirement, survivor benefits or other programs for those who served in the military “isn’t something I support.” He goes on to say that it would be wrong for Congress and the Administration to take away benefits from disabled veterans.
